At V.I.Pet Express, our mission is to fill the gap that other modes of transportation leave in regards to a family's most precious cargo, their furry members! Whether your moving, taking a much needed vacation, or just adopting a new friend, V.I.Pet can get your fur baby home. We don't just ship pets, we give them a trip to remember!
Meet Our Driver and Flight Chauffeur
Hello, My name is Devin Sherwood. I have been a professional driver and pet courier for the last 6 years of my life. I started as a semi driver in 2019, switching to pet transport in Aug. of 2023, and have spent that time driving nearly 1.3 million miles honing my skills. In June of that year, I decided I wanted more control over when and where I went, and formed V.I.Pet Express to see how I would fare on my own, while helping people in a way that brought happiness to my life. To my surprise, our first year was an amazing success, completing over 200 happy drop-offs! V.I.Pet Express is now here to stay, and will continue to help families get their beloved furry family members home for years to come, offering great rates and providing excellent quality and comfort to be the best pet transportation option in the industry!
Devin is a registered transporter with the USDA. He is also certified to perform potentially life saving feline and K9 first aid and CPR by the Red Cross in the event of an emergency.
Our Vehicle
We utilize a 2024 Chrysler Pacifica because of its comfort, space, and fuel efficiency! The rear is very spacious with the seats laid down, providing a comfortable ride for your pet with plenty of room to sprawl out on solo rides! In the event of a shared ride, we limit the amount of pets to 3-5 on board depending on size, separated in their own carriers, and are walked individually!
We also always have a pet emergency first aid kit, a fresh spare tire, tire chains, road flares, a satellite phone, and other essentials for long haul driving, even in the most remote areas. Our vehicle is also fully insured with roadside assistance, and in the event of a breakdown, a rental can be arranged to finish out the trip so delays are kept to a minimum!
Rules of Transport and Booking
Equipment Provided
V.I.Pet provides carriers, bowls, collars, leashes, and water. Our vehicle also carries emergency medical supplies such as wound wash, gauze, pHyLyte IV Solution, G.I. Equalizer, and sterile gloves.
Rules of Transport
*Due to sanitary and safety concerns, bedding is not provided by V.I.Pet, but will be accepted if you choose to send some. If you wish to provide a bed, V.I.Pet recommends a flat bed with no raised edges as they take up unnecessary space inside the carrier, and make bowl placement at feeding times more difficult.
*Due to varying diets, food must be provided to the driver by the customer at pick up. Food can be bought by the driver for a fee if brand and product line name are provided.
*All dogs on shared rides will be kept separated from each other and walked individually every 6 hours. Cats will have their litter boxes in the carrier swapped with food bowls or vice versa at these times.
*A 10-day health certificate for travel and shot records must be present at pick up or email ready.
*All puppies under 12 weeks MUST be transported under "no-ground/no-floor" and will be kept in a carrier lined with wood based bedding for the duration of the trip. Bedding will be cleaned and replaced as needed.
Payments
*V.I.Pet has no hidden fees ever. Your estimate is your final price.
*Total cost is broken up into 2 payments; a 40% deposit due at booking to reserve your pet's spot, with the remaining 60% being yours to hold onto until drop off for peace of mind.
*Payments will be collected using PayPal, CashApp, Venmo, or Zelle at the time of booking and at drop off. Cash, money order, and cashiers checks are also accepted at drop off. NO PERSONAL CHECKS OR WIRE TRANSFERS.
Gps Tracking and Photo Updates
*Live GPS location data is provided using Google Maps from pick up to drop off so you know exactly where your pet is in real time.
*Photo updates will be provided every 6 hours to serve as proof of care.
